Using the no-annual fee Bilt Rewards Mastercard, you can now earn points for paying rent with no transaction fee, buying a home, or anything else you can use a Mastercard for. With these points valued at over $0.02/point, you can quickly earn thousands of points. You can earn over $10,000 worth of points buying an average-priced house in Hawaii.
From online research, it also seems to work to earn one point per dollar spent for one mortgage payment a month for just about any lender except Loan Depot and Chase, though it won’t officially be offered for mortgage payments until next year.
You do have to make at least 5 transactions per month (besides mortgage payments) to earn the points, but you can quickly earn enough points for free travel using this credit card. I now use this card in combination with my other travel rewards credit cards (including Chase Sapphire Reserve – click for 60,000 bonus points, Amex Gold Business – click for 175,000 bonus points, the highest I’ve seen) to earn lots of free travel.
If you don’t have a Bilt credit card yet, please click this link to get one with no annual fee (disclosure: I earn referral points when you sign up using this link, and you can earn referral points, too, once you sign up):
If you aren’t using travel reward credit cards to earn free travel, you’re missing out. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about them – there are tons of way to earn free travel and a lot more benefits. On our Disneyland trip last week, we unexpectedly had to stay an extra night, and fortunately I had my annual free night at a Marriott from holding the Marriott Bonvoy card (click for 85,000 bonus points), which gave us a comfortable stay at the LAX Residence Inn.
Have a great weekend!
